Bulletproof Off

“Bulletproof Off” is about the risk of letting someone behind the armor, the moment trust becomes vulnerability and love becomes a loaded weapon. It’s a story of ignoring the warning signs, staying too long, and learning that love cannot heal someone who refuses to change. Sometimes surviving means rebuilding your shield.

TEACHING MY HEART TO QUIT

This isn’t about teaching my heart to stop loving her.

It’s about teaching my heart to stop abandoning me.

For far too long, I mistook control for concern, manipulation for misunderstanding, and brief moments of affection for proof that the future I believed in was still possible. I kept chasing the person I thought she could be while ignoring the person her choices repeatedly showed me.

That is what a trauma bond does.

It keeps you loyal to the memory, addicted to the possibility, and convinced that one more conversation, one more sacrifice, or one more chance will finally turn the illusion into something real.

But love was never supposed to cost me my identity.

“Teaching My Heart to Quit” is about breaking that bond. It’s acceptance without excuses. It’s erasing the delusion, silencing the illusion, and grieving a future that existed more in my hope than it ever did in reality.

It’s learning to smile again.

It’s looking in the mirror without seeing the version of myself I was manipulated into believing.

It’s finally understanding that I was worthy of the love I kept begging for, I was just asking the wrong person.

This isn’t me moving forward because none of it mattered.

It’s me moving forward because I finally do.

I’m burying the memory.

I’m letting the illusion die.

And I’m rebuilding myself, one honest, broken, hard-earned piece at a time.

Where it began

I never planned on telling my story through music.

Truthfully, I spent a long time believing my voice didn’t matter. I stayed quiet about things that hurt me, made excuses for things I couldn’t explain, and carried more than I ever admitted out loud.

Eventually, all of it had to go somewhere.

That’s where Southern Overdrive came from.

That Wasn't Confusion

Southern Overdrive

In cart Not available Out of stock

"That Wasn't Confusion" is the moment the excuses finally stop working, the realization that the mixed signals, shifting blame, and constantly moving boundaries were never misunderstandings. It's a raw country reckoning with emotional manipulation, reclaiming your reality, and finally calling control by it's name.

“If Love Could Drive” is a father’s promise stretched across every mile separating him from his children. Through empty passenger seats, missed birthdays, county lines, and endless highways, the song captures the helplessness of loving your kids more than anything while being unable to simply drive home to them. It’s about a love that distance, time, and circumstance can never weaken, because if a father’s love alone could close the space between them, he’d already be there.

“Table for One” is about the part of heartbreak nobody warns you about, the ordinary routines that outlive the family they were built around. It’s working all day only to sit in the driveway, dreading the silence waiting inside. It’s cooking too much food, reaching for plates that are no longer needed, and hearing one fork against a plate where laughter used to fill the room. This song isn’t about the moment someone leaves. It’s about everything that stays behind.
