From the recording Poison in The Walls
“Round by Round” tells the story of a relationship that begins like everything you ever prayed for, then slowly becomes a cycle of affection, distance, cruelty, remorse, and promises that never last.
It captures the reality of a trauma bond, and the part people on the outside rarely understand: staying doesn’t mean someone is weak, blind, or willing to be hurt. Sometimes the same person causing the pain is also the one offering just enough love to make leaving feel impossible.
This is a song about recognizing the pattern, releasing the shame of staying too long, and finally understanding that it wasn’t love keeping you there. It was a cycle deliberately built to keep you going
Round and round.
